We have begun making Earth Index available to select users on our alpha waitlist. Earth Index is an AI-powered tool that simplifies planetary environmental monitoring, making complex geospatial data accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise. With this release, we are sharing new time series compare functionality, expanded coverage to new geographies, and many other optimizations. We’re eager to hear their impressions as they use Earth Index to build environmental data sets, and more feedback for continuous improvement.
Improvements and New Features
In this update, we’re excited to share some new features we’re developing to make environmental monitoring more intuitive and expansive.
- New Compare Functionality: We’ve introduced initial functionality to help users compare two different searches side-by-side within a project. This feature makes it easier to track changes over time in satellite imagery and detect environmental shifts across different regions.
- Improved Tiles: We’ve enhanced our tiling for faster loading times and better resolutions. These changes will help users to zoom in further and get more detailed views of satellite imagery without sacrificing performance.
- Expanded Coverage for Embeddings: On our path to global coverage, we’ve expanded the range of regions with indexed satellite imagery in Earth Index. This update introduces imagery from areas including Cambodia, parts of Niger, Paraguay, Lake Victoria, and the indigenous lands of Yanomami and Madre de Dios, among others.
We’re actively working to improve these features. All along the way, we’ll be sharing updates and working closely with our users to refine the platform and expand its capabilities.
